Beschreibung
Apistogramma iniridae reaches 5-6 cm. The male has a silvery blue body with green highlights, a bright yellow dorsal fin, and a yellow caudal fin. The female is smaller, pale yellow with a black stripe. This species is little known and rarely imported. It lives in very acidic, mineral-poor waters. Its behavior is similar to other apistogrammas: territorial but peaceful. Breeding occurs in a cave; the female turns intense yellow.

Aquarium of at least 60 L, very acidic water (pH 4.5-6.0) and very soft (GH 1-3). Temperature 24-27°C. Gentle filtration, low flow. Small live food (micro worms, nauplii). Provide many hiding places (roots, catappa leaves). Compatible with dwarf tetras and catfish. Avoid any aggressive competition. Breeding delicate, requires pristine water.
