Beschreibung

The green chromis grows up to 10 cm. Its body is bright green with bluish reflections. The fins are translucent. It is a peaceful fish that lives in schools. In aquariums, it is active and swims in open water. It is sensitive to stress if kept alone. It reproduces by laying eggs on a substrate prepared by the male.

The green chromis lives in schools above coral reefs, often over Acropora branches. It frequents lagoons and reef slopes where it feeds on zooplankton. Juveniles hide among corals.

Temperature 24-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.020-1.025. Minimum tank size 200 liters for a school of 6. Omnivorous: plankton, brine shrimp, mysis, flakes. Compatible with all peaceful fish. Avoid aggressive fish. Keep in groups of at least 5-6 to reduce stress. Captive breeding possible.
