Beschreibung
Danio margaritatus has a stocky body, dark blue with golden spots and red fins. Males are more colorful than females. It reaches up to 2.5 cm. It is a schooling and shy fish that lives in groups. It is very sensitive to water quality. It reproduces by spawning on fine-leaved plants.

The celestial pearl danio inhabits small ponds and pools of clear, vegetated water in the hills of Myanmar. The water is soft and acidic, with moderate temperature.

Pflegehinweise
Aquarium of at least 40 L for a school of 8 to 10 individuals. Acidic to neutral water (pH 6.0-7.0), very soft (GH 2-6), temperature 22-26°C. A planted setup with shaded areas and a dark substrate is ideal. They are omnivorous: micro-foods, artemia, daphnia. Avoid strong currents. They are peaceful fish, to be kept with other small calm species. Breeding is possible but delicate.
