Colonies are massive, often encrusting, with polygonal corallites 6–12 mm. Walls are particularly sharp and septa are well developed. Color ranges from emerald green to orange-brown, sometimes with contrasting centers. Polyps are small and retractile. This species grows slowly and forms dense mounds. It is sensitive to sudden parameter changes. In aquaria, it can reach 20 cm in diameter.

Pflegehinweise

Stable parameters: temperature 24-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.023-1.025. Moderate to medium lighting (PAR 100-150) and moderate flow. Nitrates <10 ppm, phosphates <0.1 ppm. Calcium >400 ppm, magnesium >1200 ppm. Feed zooplankton and phytoplankton twice a week. Minimum tank volume 120 liters. Avoid polyp-eating fish. Good flow around the colony is important. Fragmentation possible but delicate.
