Beschreibung

Garra gotyla has an elongated, slightly compressed body, brownish to grey-green with irregular dark spots. Its sucker mouth is highly developed. It has sensory barbels. Fins are robust, caudal slightly forked. It reaches 12 cm. It is a gregarious fish living in schools in current zones. It feeds mainly on algae and biofilm. It is very active and may jump, requiring a lid.

Tank of at least 120 L with strong current and good oxygenation. Temperature 20-26°C, pH 6.5-7.5, GH 5-15. Fine gravel or sand substrate. Decorate with smooth stones and driftwood. Omnivorous with herbivorous tendency: offer algae wafers, blanched vegetables, and protein foods. Keep in groups of 5 or more. Compatible with current-loving fish like Danios or Rasboras. Avoid slow or long-finned fish. Perform 25% weekly water changes.
