Beschreibung

Gasteropelecus levis grows up to 3.5 cm. Its body is deep and laterally compressed, with enlarged pectoral fins that allow it to jump out of the water. It has a shiny silver stripe on the flank. It is a schooling fish that lives in groups. It feeds mainly on surface insects. In the aquarium, it is peaceful and active. Its surface swimming is characteristic.

Pflegehinweise

Keep in a school of at least 6 individuals. Aquarium of at least 60L with open surface area. Parameters: pH 5.5-7.0, GH 2-15, KH 1-10, temperature 24-28°C. Diet: flakes, micro-pellets, brine shrimp, daphnia. Sensitive to nitrates (max 20 mg/L). Provide a tight cover as it jumps. Floating plants appreciated. Compatible with other small peaceful fish.
