Beschreibung

This fish reaches about 2 cm. Its body is entirely orange to reddish, with a slightly darker caudal fin. Very peaceful and schooling. Males are more colorful than females. Active and swims throughout the water column. Its small size makes it an excellent choice for small tanks.

The ember tetra originates from clear, slow-moving waters of the Rio Araguaia basin in Brazil. It inhabits shallow areas with abundant aquatic vegetation and sandy substrate.

Pflegehinweise

Temperature 23–28°C, pH 5.5–7.0, low to moderate hardness. A 30-liter tank is enough for a small school of 6–8. Well-filtered water with gentle flow. Dense planting and shaded areas are appreciated. Diet: micro-pellets, brine shrimp nauplii. Compatible with other small peaceful fish. Avoid larger species.
