Beschreibung
The lemon tetra has a bright yellow body with yellow fins edged in black, a black anal fin, and red eyes. It reaches 4–5 cm. It is an active schooling fish that swims in the middle zone. It is very peaceful and can coexist with other small fish. Males are more colorful and slender than females. It enjoys dense vegetation and moderate lighting. Its yellow color intensifies with a varied diet.

Minimum 60 L aquarium for a group of 6–8 individuals. Soft to moderately hard water (pH 5.5–7.5, GH 1–12, KH 1–8) at 23–28 °C. Standard filtration, moderate lighting. Omnivorous: flakes, micro-pellets, live or frozen food. Compatible with most small peaceful fish. Hardy species, but sensitive to ammonia spikes. Regular weekly water changes of 20%. Can be kept in a species tank or community.
