Beschreibung

Labidochromis caeruleus, also known as the yellow lab cichlid, is a dwarf cichlid from Lake Malawi. Its bright lemon-yellow color, sometimes with blue highlights on the fins, makes it a favorite. Males are slightly larger and more colorful than females. It reaches 8-10 cm. In the wild, it feeds on benthic invertebrates. In the aquarium, it is hardy and adapts well to typical Malawi conditions.

Pflegehinweise

Hard alkaline water (pH 7.8-8.6, GH 10-20, KH 8-12) at 24-28°C. A minimum 100-liter tank with rocks and sand. Perform 20% weekly water changes. Feed with cichlid pellets, flakes, and frozen foods. It is a peaceful fish that can coexist with other non-aggressive Mbunas or Haplochromis.
