Beschreibung

Marsilea quadrifolia has floating or emergent leaves with four clover-like leaflets. Underwater, leaves stay small (1-3 cm) and creeping. Stolons spread quickly to colonize the substrate. It can survive in very varied conditions, including low light. Growth is slower without CO₂. It produces sporocarps under stress. An ideal plant for low-tech aquariums.

Pflegehinweise

Very easy, tolerates low to moderate light (0.2-0.4 W/L). Temperature 18-28°C, pH 6.0-8.0, GH 3-20°dGH, KH 2-12°dKH. No CO₂ needed, but light injection (10-15 mg/L) speeds growth. Plant in clumps 3-4 cm apart. Occasional trimming to prevent shading. Compatible with all fish. Propagate by dividing stolons. Watch for snails that may damage young shoots.
