The gray angelfish is a large angelfish with a gray-blue body and yellow-edged scales, very popular in large marine aquariums.
Beschreibung
Pomacanthus arcuatus can reach 60 cm in length. Adults have a gray-blue body with yellow-edged scales, elongated dorsal and anal fins, and a small mouth. Juveniles are striped blue and yellow. It is an intelligent and curious fish, but can become aggressive towards other angelfish. It requires a very large aquarium with plenty of swimming space. It is omnivorous, feeding on sponges, algae, and small invertebrates. In captivity, it can live over 20 years.

Temperature 24-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.023-1.025. A tank of at least 1000 liters is essential. The decor should be stable with large rocks and hiding places. It is not suitable for reef tanks as it consumes sponges and may damage corals. Feed with varied foods: algae, brine shrimp, mysis, fish and shrimp pieces, and preparations for large angelfish. It is sensitive to water quality, requires powerful filtration and a protein skimmer. Avoid keeping it with other large angelfish.
