Beschreibung

Three-spot gourami reaches 15 cm. Its body is oval and laterally compressed, silvery blue with two black spots (one on the flank, one at the tail base). The pelvic fins are transformed into long tactile filaments. It is a labyrinth fish, calm but can be territorial with conspecifics. It is omnivorous and accepts a wide variety of foods. Breeding involves a bubble nest.

This gourami inhabits calm, shallow waters rich in vegetation: swamps, rice paddies, lakes. The water is often warm and low in oxygen.

A minimum 120-liter aquarium for a pair. Temperature 24-28°C, pH 6.0-7.5, low to medium hardness. A planted setup with open areas and a lid (as it may jump) is recommended. Omnivorous, accepts flakes, pellets, and live food. Compatible with peaceful medium-sized fish. Avoid aggressive or very small species. Breeding is easy in a specific tank.
