Beschreibung

Tropheus annectens has a slender body compared to other Tropheus, with a brownish-green base color and a yellow belly. Males may show a faint yellow band. They are herbivorous and feed on aufwuchs. They are aggressive and require large groups. They are maternal mouthbrooders. Endemic to Lake Tanganyika, but its exact distribution is poorly known. They are smaller, reaching only 10 cm. They are less common in the aquarium trade.

Pflegehinweise

Tropheus annectens requires a tank of at least 200 liters with plenty of rockwork. Water parameters: pH 8.0-9.0, temperature 24-27°C, GH 10-20, KH 12-18. Strict herbivorous diet. Keep in groups of at least 5-6. Weekly water changes. Nitrate < 20 ppm. Data deficient species, be mindful of origin. Compatible with other Tropheus of similar size. Strong filtration recommended.
