A peacock with orange and blue colors, very close to Aulonocara baenschi but with distinct shades.

Description
This cichlid reaches 13 cm. Males have a blue head and an orange to reddish body. Females are dull. It is a mouthbrooder and forms harems. It is more territorial than some other peacocks. It lives in shallow rocky areas. Its diet is carnivorous. Breeding is similar to other Aulonocara.

Care notes
Minimum 250 liter tank for a group. Parameters: 24-28°C, pH 7.5-8.5, GH 10-20, KH 8-12. Nitrates <20, phosphates <0.5. Varied diet: pellets, brine shrimp, krill. Compatible with other Malawi cichlids of similar size. Avoid overly aggressive species. Provide rocks and hiding spots. Regular water changes.
