Crinum calamistratum is a bulbous plant with long wavy leaves, very hardy and suitable for large aquariums.
Description
Crinum calamistratum has a large elongated bulb (up to 10 cm) from which ribbon-like, wavy, dark green leaves emerge, reaching 60 cm in length and 2-3 cm wide. The leaves are thick and leathery. The plant does not produce an emergent stem in aquariums, but can flower under optimal conditions with a scape bearing fragrant white flowers. It grows slowly but is very robust. It tolerates a wide range of parameters. Propagation is by division of bulbils.

Care notes
Very easy plant, ideal for beginners. Temperature 22-28 °C, pH 6.0-8.0, GH 2-20, KH 2-15. Low to moderate lighting. CO₂ not needed. Minimum tank volume 60 liters, but prefers large tanks (100 L+) for its long leaves. Nutrient-rich substrate recommended. Slow growth, does not require frequent trimming. Compatible with most fish. Propagation by separating bulbils. Be careful not to bury the bulb completely, the neck must remain visible.
