Description
Hemianthus glomeratus is an aquatic plant with fine, creeping stems producing tiny opposite leaves of 2–4 mm. It grows quickly under optimal conditions and forms a dense, uniform carpet. The stems root easily in the substrate and branch profusely. In the aquarium, it requires high light and regular CO2 supplementation to maintain its compact form. Without trimming, it can grow upward and lose its carpeting appearance. It is commonly used as a foreground plant in Dutch-style or natural aquascapes.

Care notes
This plant requires high light (≥ 0.5 W/L) and CO2 supplementation between 20–30 mg/L for optimal growth. Ideal parameters are temperature 20–28°C, pH 5–7, GH 2–12, KH 1–5. Nitrates should not exceed 20 mg/L and phosphates 2 mg/L. A nutrient-rich substrate with iron and trace elements promotes dense development. It is compatible with all peaceful fish and shrimp. Regular trimming (every 1–2 weeks) is necessary to maintain the carpet. Avoid bottom-dwelling fish that uproot the stems.
