Bellott's Tetra is a small discreet fish with a silvery body and slightly tinted caudal fin. It lives in schools in Amazonian blackwaters.
Description
This tetra reaches about 3.5 cm. Its body is elongated, silvery with greenish reflections. A fine dark line runs along the flank. The caudal fin is hyaline with a slight yellowish tint. It is less colorful than other tetras but has a discreet elegance. It swims in schools and occupies the mid-water. It is a peaceful and shy species that appreciates heavily planted aquariums.

Care notes
Keep in groups of at least 6 in a minimum 50-liter tank. Water should be soft and acidic (pH 5.5-7.0, GH 1-10). Temperature 23-28°C. Gentle filtration and subdued lighting are preferable. Omnivorous, accepts micro-foods. Provide hiding places with plants and roots. Compatible with other small peaceful fish. Avoid lively or aggressive species. Breeding is possible in very soft acidic water.
