Small silver tetra with a black lateral stripe and red tail, peaceful and easy to keep in groups.
Description
Ulrey's tetra has a silver body with a thin horizontal black stripe and a bright red tail. It reaches about 5 cm. It is a schooling fish that lives in groups and swims in the middle zone. It is very peaceful and suitable for community aquariums. It resembles the Hyanuary tetra but differs by a thinner stripe and redder tail. It enjoys dense vegetation and moderate lighting. Males are slightly more colorful.

Care notes
Minimum 60 L aquarium for a group of 6–8. Soft to moderately hard water (pH 6.0–7.5, GH 2–15, KH 2–10) at 22–28 °C. Moderate filtration, standard lighting. Omnivorous: flakes, micro-pellets, brine shrimp. Compatible with most small peaceful fish. Hardy species, but avoid very hard water. Regular weekly water changes of 20%. Can be kept in a species tank or community.
