The black neon tetra is distinguished by a black stripe and a luminous white stripe along the body.
Description
It reaches about 4 cm. Its body is silvery with a broad black horizontal stripe and a thin iridescent white stripe above. The adipose fin is black. A schooling, peaceful and hardy fish. More tolerant than other neons. Both sexes are similar.
Habitat
Region :
The black neon tetra lives in clear, slow-moving waters of the Paraguay River basin, with dense riparian vegetation and sandy bottom.

Care notes
Temperature 22–28°C, pH 6.0–7.5, moderate hardness. A minimum 60-liter tank for a school of 8–10. Water can be slightly alkaline. Décor with plants and driftwood works. Diet: flakes, fine granules, brine shrimp. Compatible with most peaceful fish. Avoid aggressive species.
