Description

This fern has dark green, leathery leaves of variable shape (lanceolate to lobed). It can reach 20-30 cm. It grows from a creeping rhizome. Leaves can produce plantlets on their edges. It should not be planted in substrate. It prefers moderate light. Often used as background or midground plant.

Java fern grows in tropical rainforests, on rocks and tree trunks in moderate current rivers. It tolerates a wide range of conditions.
