A rare pencilfish in the hobby, with a silvery body, a black stripe, and a red caudal fin. Peaceful and suited for blackwater tanks.
Description
Nannostomus anduzei reaches about 3 cm. Its body is elongated with a horizontal black stripe. The caudal fin is bright red, similar to N. rubrocaudatus but smaller. The dorsal and anal fins are transparent. It lives in schools and is very shy. It prefers acidic, very soft water. In the aquarium, it often hides among plants. It is a delicate species requiring perfectly stable water.

Care notes
Temperature 24-28°C, pH 5.0-6.5, GH 1-5. Minimum 60-liter tank for a group of 6. Water must be very soft and acidic with gentle filtration. Feed with micro live or frozen foods. Dense plants and roots are essential for hiding spots. Avoid any parameter fluctuations. Compatible with other small blackwater fish.
