Giant vallisneria is a very large background plant with leaves exceeding 1 meter. Ideal for large tanks.
Description
Leaves are ribbon-like, dark green, 50–100 cm long, sometimes more. They are wider than those of V. spiralis. The plant spreads via vigorous stolons. It can cover the entire tank surface if uncontrolled. Very hardy and tolerates hard water. Leaves can be trimmed to desired length.
Habitat
Region :
This plant grows in large rivers and lakes of Southeast Asia. It colonizes deep waters and forms dense meadows. The substrate is often muddy.

Care notes
Temperature 22–28°C, pH 6.5–8.0, GH 5–20. Moderate lighting (0.5 W/L) is sufficient. A sand or fine gravel substrate is acceptable. CO2 addition is not needed. Requires a large tank (minimum 150 L) due to its size. Compatible with large fish. Thin out regularly to avoid overgrowth.
