Cylindrical Acropora

Acropora teres

CoralMarine

This coral has robust cylindrical branches, often brown, green or bluish. The polyps are small and retractile, giving a smooth surface. It colonizes well-lit reef areas. Growth is rapid under optimal conditions. It can reach over 50 cm in diameter. It is sensitive to parameter fluctuations. Good water flow is essential to prevent sedimentation.

Care notes

Maintain temperature 24-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.023-1.025. Calcium should be 400-450 ppm, magnesium 1250-1350 ppm. Intense lighting (LED or T5) is required. Strong to moderate flow is recommended. Feed with zooplankton and phytoplankton. A minimum tank volume of 100 L is advised. Keep nitrates below 5 ppm and phosphates below 0.05 ppm. Compatible with other SPS corals.
