Centropyge vrolikii has a blue-gray body with white-edged scales, creating a reticulated pattern. The head is darker, the fins are blue with light edges. It reaches 12 cm. It is an active and relatively peaceful fish, but may defend its territory. It spends a lot of time grazing algae on rocks. In the aquarium, it adapts well and can be kept in a group if space is sufficient. It is sensitive to skin diseases if water quality is poor.

Care notes

Parameters: 24-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.023-1.025. Minimum tank volume 250 liters. A decor with live rock and hiding places is essential. It can coexist with other similarly sized angelfish if introduced together. Feed with algae, brine shrimp, mysis, and herbivore pellets. It is generally safe for hard corals but may nibble soft corals. Powerful filtration and moderate flow are recommended. Perform regular water changes.
