Aquarium of at least 40 L for a school of 8 to 10 individuals. Acidic to neutral water (pH 6.0-7.0), very soft (GH 2-6), temperature 22-26°C. A planted setup with shaded areas and a dark substrate is ideal. They are omnivorous: micro-foods, artemia, daphnia. Avoid strong currents. They are peaceful fish, to be kept with other small calm species. Breeding is possible but delicate.
