Dwarf Hair Grass

Eleocharis minima

PlantFreshwater

Eleocharis minima is a dwarf species of the Cyperaceae family, with fine stems 3–8 cm tall. It spreads quickly via stolons and covers the ground with a uniform green carpet. Its stems are very thin and flexible, giving a delicate appearance. It requires high light and CO2 supplementation to stay compact and avoid stretching. Under optimal conditions, it can form a very dense lawn in a few weeks. It is ideal for nano-aquariums and iwagumi-style aquascapes.
