Margined Tetra
Hemigrammus marginatus
This tetra reaches about 4 cm. Its body is slender, silvery, with a well-defined black stripe from the eye to the caudal base. The fins are hyaline, sometimes slightly tinted yellow. It has a small black spot on the caudal peduncle. It is an active swimmer occupying the mid-water. It is gregarious and requires a group. Its peaceful behavior makes it an excellent community fish.

Care
Care notes
Keep in groups of at least 6 in a 60-liter tank. Water should be soft to moderately hard (GH 2-12), pH 6.0-7.5, temperature 22-28°C. Moderate filtration and subdued lighting are suitable. Omnivorous, accepts dry and frozen foods. Enjoys a planted aquarium with open areas. Compatible with other small peaceful fish. Avoid aggressive or overly large species. Breeding is possible in a specific tank with soft acidic water.
