Melanotaenia parkinsoni
Melanotaenia parkinsoni reaches up to 10 cm. Its body is silvery with blue and green iridescence, and a dark horizontal stripe. Males are more colorful than females. This species is very active and lives in schools. It is known for its fast swimming and curious behavior. In the aquarium, it explores all levels. Its reproduction is typical of rainbowfish: spawning on fine plants.
