Casket nassarius
Nassarius arcularia
The shell of Nassarius arcularia is globular, cream with brown spiral bands and nodules. It reaches up to 2.5 cm. The foot is broad and spotted black. It has a long tubular siphon. It is an active scavenger feeding on decaying organic matter. It is often seen in groups on the sand. It is very responsive to food and can emerge from sand in seconds. It is harmless to corals and fish.

Parameters: temperature 24-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.023-1.025, dKH 7-12. Diet: pieces of fish, shrimp, meaty pellets. A tank of at least 30 liters is recommended. It needs a fine sandy substrate for burrowing. Compatible with all peaceful fish and invertebrates. Avoid predatory fish. It can be kept in groups. It is sensitive to high nitrates and phosphates. Good water flow is appreciated.
