Neritina turrita is a freshwater snail from West Africa. Its shell is conical and elongated, dark brown with lighter bands. It grows to about 1.5-2.5 cm. It is an excellent algae grazer, especially on glass and decorations. It is hardy and easy to keep. Like other nerites, its eggs only develop in brackish water.

Freshwater: temperature 22-28°C, pH 7.0-8.0, GH 6-12, KH 4-8. Nitrates <30 ppm. Diet: algae, supplement with blanched vegetables. Avoid copper. Shell is robust but can break if dropped.
