Azure damselfish
Pomacentrus coelestis
This fish has an elongated and laterally compressed body, entirely covered in an electric blue color. The fins are also blue, sometimes with silvery reflections. Juveniles are duller and become more vivid as they grow. It reaches up to 7 cm in adulthood. It is a territorial fish and sometimes aggressive towards conspecifics, especially in a small volume. It swims actively throughout the water column and likes to hide in rocks. In the aquarium, it adapts quickly and accepts a wide variety of foods.

Care
Care notes
Maintain a temperature of 24-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, and salinity 1.020-1.025. A minimum tank volume of 100 liters is recommended for a single specimen. The aquarium should have plenty of hiding places (live rock) and open swimming space. It is omnivorous: feed with flakes, pellets, brine shrimp and mysis. It can be kept in a group in a large tank, but cohabitation with other damselfish may be conflictual. Avoid overly timid fish as it may harass them. Efficient filtration and regular water changes are necessary. It is sensitive to nitrate and phosphate spikes.
