Rasbora heteromorpha has a deep, laterally compressed body, pink-orange in color with a characteristic triangular black spot on the flank. It reaches up to 4 cm. It is a schooling fish that swims in groups. It is very hardy and adapts to different conditions. It reproduces by spawning on the underside of leaves.

Care notes

Aquarium of at least 60 L for a school of 8 to 10 individuals. Acidic to neutral water (pH 6.0-7.0), soft (GH 3-8), temperature 24-28°C. A planted setup with shaded areas and moderate lighting is suitable. They are omnivorous: flakes, fine pellets, artemia. They are peaceful fish, compatible with tetras, corydoras, and other small fish. Breeding is possible with broad-leaved plants.
