Wilson's Brain Coral
Symphyllia wilsoni
Symphyllia wilsoni forms massive colonies with sinuous, deep valleys. Polyps are large and fleshy, color variable: green, purple, brown or blue. It can reach 50 cm in diameter. Growth is slow. It requires moderate light and moderate to low flow. It is peaceful but can extend stinging polyps at night. It is sensitive to salinity and temperature fluctuations.

Care
Care notes
Stable parameters: temperature 24-27°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.024-1.026. Calcium 420 ppm, magnesium 1350 ppm. Moderate lighting (PAR 100-150), low to moderate flow. Feeding: photosynthetic, supplement with zooplankton once a week. Minimum tank volume 150 liters. Compatible with calm reef fish. Fragmentation delicate. Avoid strong direct light. Keep NO3 < 5 ppm, PO4 < 0.05 ppm.
