Pearl gourami grows up to 12 cm. Its body is elongated and compressed, brownish-silver with pearly white spots all over. The fins are similarly spotted. Males have an orange-red throat during breeding. It is a calm and shy labyrinth fish. It lives in pairs or small groups. It is sensitive to water quality.

A minimum 100-liter aquarium for a pair. Temperature 24-28°C, pH 6.0-7.0, low hardness. A planted setup with shaded areas and low current is necessary. Omnivorous diet: flakes, pellets, live food. Compatible with other peaceful fish of similar size. Avoid aggressive or boisterous species. Breeding is possible with a bubble nest.
