Wolffia arrhiza is a tiny floating plant (0.1-0.2 mm) spherical or ellipsoidal in shape. It has no roots or stems, only a vegetative body. It reproduces by rapid budding. It forms a green carpet on the water surface. It is very rich in protein and used as fish food. In aquariums, it can proliferate quickly.
