Descripción

Acanthastrea ishigakiensis forms encrusting or massive colonies of modest size. Polyps are fleshy and often green, orange or pink. It is less aggressive than other Acanthastrea. Growth is slow. It feeds mainly through photosynthesis but accepts fine prey. This species is sought after for its rarity and pastel hues.
