Acropora hyacinthus forms table-like or corymbose colonies, highly prized in aquaristics.
Descripción
This coral develops horizontal table-like branches with fine, pointed tips. Color ranges from blue to purple, sometimes green or brown. It grows moderately and can reach large sizes. Its polyps are small and retracted during the day. It is sensitive to bleaching. In aquariums, it requires intense light and strong flow. It is often used as a water quality indicator.

Temperature 25-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.024-1.026. Very high lighting, strong flow. Calcium 420-450 ppm, magnesium 1300-1350 ppm. Nitrates < 5 ppm, phosphates < 0.05 ppm. Feeds by photosynthesis, may accept plankton. Minimum tank volume 250 liters. Avoid fish that nip polyps. Fragile, requires very stable water. Propagation by fragmentation.
