Descripción

Males are predominantly blue with a yellow-orange dorsal fin and a blue anal fin. Females are dull gray-brown. It is a maternal mouthbrooder. It lives in rocky areas of Lake Malawi. Males are territorial but not aggressive towards other peaceful species. The blue color intensifies with age and dominance. It grows up to 13 cm.

Water conditions identical: 24-28°C, pH 7.5-8.5, GH 10-20, KH 8-12. Minimum 200L tank. Carnivorous diet. Compatible with other peacocks and haps. Keep a harem. Weekly water changes. Breeding is easy if parameters are stable. Fry can be fed with baby brine shrimp.
