Descripción
This barb reaches up to 12 cm. Its elongated body is silvery with 4 to 6 vertical black bars. The fins are slightly tinted red in males. It is a gregarious fish that requires conspecifics. It is omnivorous and accepts a wide variety of foods. Its active behavior makes it an excellent community fish.

Temperature 22-26°C, pH 6.0-7.5, hardness 5-15 dGH. A tank of at least 100 liters is recommended for a group of 5. Diet should be varied: flakes, pellets, brine shrimp, bloodworms. Moderate filtration and standard lighting. Hiding spots and floating plants are appreciated. Hardy and easy to keep.
