This shrimp requires soft, acidic to neutral water (pH 6.0-7.0), temperature 24-28°C. GH 4-8, KH 1-4. A minimum tank size of 20 liters is recommended for a small group. It is sensitive to nitrates (max 20 ppm) and phosphates (max 0.5 ppm). Gentle filtration and well-oxygenated water are essential. Diet should be varied: shrimp pellets, blanched vegetables, and mineral supplements. It cohabits well with other peaceful small shrimp and non-predatory fish. Avoid fish that may eat them. Breeding is possible in captivity under optimal conditions.
