Descripción
The flame angelfish grows up to 12 cm. Its body is bright red with vertical black stripes on the sides. The dorsal fin is edged in blue. It is an active and curious fish, but can be territorial towards other dwarf angelfish. It is generally compatible with soft corals but may nip at some hard corals. It reproduces by spawning pelagic eggs.

The flame angelfish inhabits coral reefs rich in hard corals, often in areas with strong current. It hides in crevices and overhangs. It feeds on algae and small invertebrates.

Temperature 24-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.020-1.025. Minimum tank size 200 liters. Omnivorous: algae, brine shrimp, mysis, spirulina-based foods. Compatible with peaceful fish. Avoid other dwarf angelfish in a small tank. Can be kept alone or in pairs. Captive breeding rare.
