The Atlantic cleaner shrimp is a small shrimp with an elongated, translucent body crossed by red and white bands. Its antennae are long and thin. It is known for its cleaning behavior: it climbs onto fish and removes parasites and dead skin. It is a hardy and easy-to-keep species that adapts well to aquarium life. It is hermaphroditic and can reproduce in captivity if conditions are favorable.
