Descripción

Symphyllia recta is distinguished by its elongated, straight valleys, unlike the meanders of other brain corals. Polyps are fleshy and retractile, often green, brown or bluish. Colonies are massive and can reach 40 cm. It is a moderate-growing coral. It prefers low to moderate light and moderate flow. It is peaceful but can sting neighboring corals with its nematocysts. It reproduces by natural fragmentation.

Notas de cuidado

Stable parameters: temperature 24-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.023-1.025. Calcium 400 ppm, magnesium 1300 ppm. Moderate lighting (PAR 100-150), moderate flow. Feeding: photosynthetic, will accept fine zooplankton. Minimum tank volume 100 liters. Compatible with reef fish, avoid butterflyfish. Easy fragmentation. Monitor nitrogen parameters (NO3 < 10 ppm, PO4 < 0.1 ppm).
