Thoracocharax securis grows up to 8 cm. Its body is very deep and compressed, with an extremely developed pectoral fin. It is silver with bluish reflections. It is a schooling fish. It feeds on insects and small fish. In the aquarium, it is peaceful but requires a large swimming space. It jumps easily. Its growth is fast.
