Colonies of Acropora spathulata are tabular or plate-like, with upright branches whose tips are flattened into spatulas. Corallites are small and aligned. Color is usually brown, gray or pale blue. This species requires very clean water and moderate flow. Growth is slow. It is sensitive to parameter fluctuations. Behavior is peaceful, but can be aggressive if space is limited.

Nitrates <2 ppm, phosphates <0.03 ppm. Minimum tank volume 150 L. Avoid sudden changes. Compatible with other non-aggressive SPS corals. Feed fine zooplankton twice a week.
