The orange-fin clownfish is a robust and territorial species, recognizable by its bright orange fins and dark brown body. It lives in symbiosis with sea anemones of the genus Heteractis.
Descrição
This clownfish has a dark brown to blackish body with two vertical white bars, one behind the eye and one on the caudal peduncle. The dorsal, anal and caudal fins are bright orange. Adults reach up to 15 cm. It is an aggressive species that fiercely defends its anemone and territory. It forms monogamous pairs and can live in a hierarchical group. In an aquarium, it requires enough space to avoid conflicts.

Maintain a temperature of 24–28 °C, pH 8.1–8.4, general hardness (GH) 8–12 dGH and carbonate hardness (KH) 8–12 dKH. Nitrates should not exceed 20 ppm and phosphates 0.1 ppm. A minimum tank size of 150 liters is recommended for a pair. Feed a varied diet: brine shrimp, mysis, flakes and pellets for marine fish. This species is aggressive towards other clownfish and shy fish; choose robust tankmates. It readily accepts anemones but can do without. Efficient filtration and moderate lighting are required. Regular water changes (10% weekly) are essential.
