The white-headed clownfish is distinguished by its white head contrasting with an orange-brown body. It is a relatively peaceful species that lives in association with Stichodactyla and Heteractis anemones.

This clownfish has a characteristic white head, an orange-brown body and a single vertical white bar on the flank. The fins are light orange. It reaches about 12 cm. It is less aggressive than other clownfish, but will defend its anemone. It lives in pairs or small hierarchical groups. In an aquarium, it adapts well and can coexist with other peaceful fish. Its unique coloration makes it a favorite among aquarists.

Water parameters must be stable: temperature 24–28 °C, pH 8.1–8.4, GH 8–12 dGH, KH 8–12 dKH, nitrates < 20 ppm, phosphates < 0.1 ppm. A minimum 100-liter tank is suitable for a pair. Diet is omnivorous: brine shrimp, mysis, flakes and pellets. This species is compatible with most peaceful reef fish. It readily accepts anemones but can live without. Moderate lighting and efficient filtration are recommended. Weekly 10% water changes maintain quality. Avoid overly aggressive tankmates.
