Descrição
Biotodoma cupido reaches about 10-12 cm. Its body is deep and laterally compressed, with a silvery to golden base color. A broad black vertical bar runs through the eye, and a dark spot marks the caudal peduncle. The fins are often edged with iridescent blue. It is a gregarious fish that lives in groups. It is very peaceful and can coexist with other small cichlids and characins. During breeding, males dig pits in the sand. The species is easy to keep and suitable for beginners.

Minimum tank size 100 liters for a group of 6. Temperature 24-28°C, pH 6.0-7.5, GH 2-10, KH 1-5. Omnivorous diet: flakes, pellets, brine shrimp, worms. Decor with fine sand, roots, plants, and leaf litter. Moderate filtration. Compatible with tetras, corydoras, other dwarf cichlids. Weekly water changes of 20%. Breeding possible in a specific tank with soft acidic water.
