Descrição

Fundulopanchax filamentosus reaches up to 7 cm. Males have greatly elongated dorsal, anal and caudal fins, hence their name. Their coloration is blue-green with red spots and golden reflections. Females are smaller and less colorful. The body is slender and compressed. It is a surface fish that enjoys shaded areas. It is very peaceful, even among males. Its peculiarity is the presence of filaments on the fins of males. It breeds by laying eggs on fine-leaved plants.

Temperature: 22–26 °C, pH 6.0–7.5, GH 2–15, KH 1–8. A 40-liter tank minimum is recommended. Accepts dry, frozen and live foods. Compatible with peaceful small fish. A lid is necessary. Plant densely with fine-leaved plants (Java moss, Cabomba). Gentle filtration to avoid damaging the fins. Breeding is simple: eggs hatch in 10–14 days.
