Labroides phthirophagus is a cleaner fish from the Labridae family, endemic to Hawaii. It reaches up to 10 cm. It has an elongated body with a black longitudinal stripe on a light blue background. It feeds on parasites and dead tissue from other fish. In aquariums, it can be difficult to keep as it requires specific feeding. It is peaceful and can be kept in groups.

Marine tank of at least 200 liters, with plenty of live rock and a population of client fish. Specialized diet: enriched brine shrimp, mysis, and parasite supplements. Salinity 1.020-1.025, temperature 24-28°C. Requires gradual acclimation. May starve if not enough natural food.
